Our Programs

Beautiful Care Initiative works with vulnerable children, families, schools, and communities in Migori and Homa Bay Counties, Kenya. Our programs focus on practical support that helps children access nutritious food, remain in school, develop confidence, and receive care and protection.

We currently work with schools including Kamolo Primary School and Kongo Primary School in Ndhiwa Sub-County, Homa Bay County, and have reached more than 500 children through our programs and community activities.

1. Feeding Program

Meals for Minds

Helping children learn without hunger

Purpose

Meals for Minds provides nutritious meals to children in school so that hunger does not become a barrier to attendance, concentration, and learning.

The Problem We Address

Many children from vulnerable families come to school without enough food. Hunger can affect a child’s ability to concentrate, participate in lessons, and remain consistently engaged in education.

Who Benefits & Where

The program supports vulnerable schoolchildren in Migori and Homa Bay Counties, including children at Kamolo Primary School and Kongo Primary School in Ndhiwa Sub-County, Homa Bay County.

What We Do

  • Provide school meals to vulnerable children
  • Organize and support meal preparation and distribution
  • Work with schools and local communities to identify children in need
  • Monitor participation and program activities
  • Mobilize resources to maintain and expand school feeding

Current Status

Meals for Minds is an ongoing program. We currently support 130 children through school-based feeding activities and are working to expand the number of children who can receive regular meals.

Our Goal: With the support of generous donors and partners, we are creating a community where every child has the opportunity to learn with dignity, dream without limits, and reach their full potential while fulfilling their nutritional requirements.

2. Education Support Program

Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty. We work to ensure that financial challenges do not prevent children from accessing quality education.

Helping vulnerable children stay in school

Purpose

Our Education Support program helps vulnerable children overcome barriers that can prevent them from attending school and participating fully in their education.

The Problem We Address

Children from families experiencing poverty may lack essential school needs and other support required to remain consistently engaged in education.

Who Benefits & Where

The program supports vulnerable children in communities where Beautiful Care Initiative operates, including Migori and Homa Bay Counties.

What We Do

  • Provide education support to vulnerable children
  • Support children with essential learning needs where resources allow
  • Identify children facing barriers to education
  • Work with families and schools to understand children’s needs
  • Connect children with longer-term support where possible

Current Status

Education support is an ongoing program. We continue to identify children who need assistance and mobilize resources to support their education.

Our Reach

Beautiful Care Initiative has reached more than 500 children through its programs and community activities.

Our Goal: To keep children in school, improve academic performance, and give every child the opportunity to build a brighter future.

3. Mentorship and Life Skills Program

Beyond education, children need guidance, encouragement, and positive role models. Our mentorship program helps young people develop confidence, integrity, and essential life skills.

Helping children build confidence and make positive choices

Purpose

Our Mentorship & Life Skills program provides children with guidance, encouragement, positive role models, and practical life skills.

The Problem We Address

Children growing up in difficult circumstances can face challenges that affect their confidence, decision-making, relationships, and hopes for the future. Consistent guidance can help children develop positive attitudes and make informed choices.

Who Benefits & Where

The program focuses on vulnerable children and young people in the communities where we work in Migori and Homa Bay Counties.

What We Do

  • Conduct mentorship activities with children
  • Provide encouragement and positive guidance
  • Discuss education, personal responsibility, and future goals
  • Encourage positive decision-making
  • Create safe opportunities for children to ask questions and seek guidance

Current Status

Mentorship activities are implemented as part of our broader child-support work and are developed according to the needs of the children and schools we serve.

Our Goal: To empower children and young people to become responsible, confident, and productive members of society.
